It’s critical for the privacy official and security official to understand their responsibilities for the protection of this information. These individuals are the key to the establishment of a Covered Entity’s policies and procedures. This course reviews the policies and procedures that are required for the protection of patient health information. Course objects are to define the following: 1) role of the privacy official and the security official; 2) privacy and security policies that must be developed; 3) the safeguards required to monitor compliance; 4) how to handle a breach; and 5) training of workforce members.
